Sunday afternoon, after performing on the main JaM Cellars stage at BottleRock Napa Valley, Alice Merton took a breather over at The JaMPad to talk to our very Jayn!

The "No Roots" singer talked about how much she admired the fashion sense of many of her fans in the audience, to what it was like to move to Germany at a young age, experiencing a new way of life and where she ultimately found her music.

Jayn also asked Alice when did it occur to her that she could write music. In response, Alice said "I started quite late. I only discovered that I could write a song when I was like, 17,"

"…some musicians, they’re starting out, writing songs when they’re like 12, 13." Alice adds. "I never thought I would go into songwriting when I was that young."

By the way, kids, Alice took a songwriting course in school and became a rock star!
