It looks like Kesha took Zedd up on his offer to collaborate following a court’s decision not to release her from the recording contract she signed with Sony Music Group.
The singer performed publicly for the first time since that ruling, appearing during Zedd’s headlining set on April 16th, and proving that Radio.com got one right when it predicted Coachella guest appearances.
Kesha sang “True Colors” from Zedd’s 2015 sophomore studio album by the same name. She didn’t say anything to fans during her appearance, but the lyrics became immensely meaningful considering her legal battles of late. “I won’t apologize for the fire in my eyes,” she sang. “Let me show you my true colors.”
On Instagram, Kesha shared a fish-eye view of her time onstage, and thanked Zedd for letting her participate. “thank u @zedd for letting me share the stage with u at @coachella last night!!! dreams come true was SO so so nervous haha. magical times,” she wrote.
Whether this means that the two will head into the studio and work together remains to be seen, but it’s nice to see Kesha sing once again. During a weekend full of major guest appearances at the California festival, including Rihanna singing with Calvin Harris on April 17th, Kesha’s remains an important one.
