French magazine Modeliste features Zendaya on their most recent cover, but in a Photoshop blunder the magazine went too far retouching the 19-year-old’s body. At least that’s what Zendaya believes.

The singer posted the proof positive on Instagram, captioning the side-by-side photos, “Had a new shoot come out today and was shocked when I found my 19 year old hips and torso quite manipulated. These are the things that make women self conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have.”

Zendaya thanked the magazine for taking down the photos and working to fix the retouch issue, but she also wanted to make it clear how such manipulation and unrealistic beauty standards warp the way girls and women see themselves.

This isn’t the first time the young singer has been outspoken about body image. After poignantly responding to Guilana Rancic’s “weed hair” comments regarding her appearance at the 2015 Oscars, Zendaya learned that Mattel created a doll in her honor. The doll sports Zendaya’s trademark dreads and classic white gown from the awards show. “When I was little I couldn’t find a Barbie that looked like me, my…how times have changed,” she captioned the image she shared on Instagram.
