Cameron Crowe and J.J. Abrams are teaming up to create a yet-unnamed comedy about roadies for Showtime (via Consequence of Sound).
Luke Wilson will star as the road manager of an arena-sized rock band with Carla Gugino playing the band’s production manager. Other cast members include Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Peter Cambor, rapper Machine Gun Kelly and comedian Ron White.
Crowe will write and direct the majority of the season’s 10 episodes, Winnie Holzman of My So-Called Life fame will serve as showrunner, and Pearl Jam’s manager Kelly Curtis to serve as producer and music supervisor.
No release date yet, but the show will likely premiere in 2016.
