Hey! It’s Lauren writing from Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii!!
One of my favorite things about Aulani is that the more time I spend here, the more I learn about Hawaiian culture.
There’s a ton of staff members who speak Hawaiian and they’re always encouraging you to learn new words. They even have a place called the Olelo Room where you can meet with friends for apps and practice your new skills. Evenings at the Olelo Room are all about the amazing musicians they bring in to perform Hawaiian music.
Yesterday, I did one of the resort tours and they pointed out so many architectural details that I hadn’t noticed yet! The north facing part of the lobby is all about the mountains, the south celebrates the ocean, the east is about strong Hawaiian female figures, and the west is about shirtless men … I mean, the powerful male legends of the islands.
Even floating down the lazy river gives you little hints about Hawaiian history, and each time you look around you notice something new.
I’m so in love with Hawaii and it’s all because of Aulani!
