With Straight Outta Compton cleaning up at the box office, it’s safe to say that Hollywood is ready for more 90’s hip-hop biopics. Now it looks as if the first of them has been announced—the Hollywood Reporter has revealed details of a film called Welcome To Death Row, about the legendary West Coast rap collective Death Row Records

The film will seek to document the life and times of Death Row titans like Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Warren G., and Kurupt, who broke out in the middle of a wave of violence and turmoil. The film will be based on a book by S. Leigh Savidge, who was also involved in Straight Outta Compton. The Reporter claims he’s currently shopping the film around to studios.

This film will now join the ranks of forthcoming films about Tupac—John Singleton (Poetic Justice, Boyz n the Hood) and Carl Franklin (Out of Time, House of Cards) are both working on separate films about the rapper.
