First Look Of Michael Fassbender In Upcoming ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Movie

Fox has released the first still of the Award-winning actor in the film based on the popular Ubisoft games.

While adapting video games to film has a rocky history with ‘gems’ like 1990’s Super Mario Bros. and the cringe worthy Mortal Kombat series, hopefully Fassbender can raise the bar on the genre. In the film, Fassbender will play Callum Lynch – a character that is not currently part of the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ video game plot lines.

“Lynch discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain.” According to Yahoo! Movies, “After gaining incredible knowledge and skills he’s poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day.”

The film is set to hit theaters on December 21, 2016 and will star Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises) and Michael Kenneth Williams (12 Years a Slave) in addition to Fassbender.
