What in the world is a ‘Chicken McDo’ & a ‘McSpaghetti’?
We’ve seen some unfamiliar menu items at our fast food favorites around the globe and the Philippines has been no exception.
Look no further than McDonald’s Philippines Chicken McDo & McSpaghetti.
First oddity is the bone in fried chicken known as the Chicken McDo. That is something you only see at fast food joints in the United States that include the word ‘chicken’ in their title. Adding a side a gravy with it seems like something we are really missing out on.
Next, you have the addition of McSpaghetti. What!? Pasta at McDonald’s? Yes, pasta at McDonald’s and it includes little bits of hot dog. Yes, hot dog in spaghetti. The uninitiated (that means myself) heard about this concept from my colleague when writing about the equally insane (but limited time only) KFC Philippines Double Down Dog and it is very common in Filipino cuisine.
As it happened, we had our Special Fast Foodie Correspondent To The Philippines in the island country to try it for us.
Here’s what he found.
“Very similar to Church’s Fried Chicken and Gravy. Spaghetti was overdone and pasty with sauce that was a bit bland. Sauce was slightly sweet with small bits of hot dog.” Commented our Special Fast Foodie Correspondent To The Philippines, “I’d eat the chicken again.”
No nutritional facts were available on the McDonald’s Philippines website but it probably is not the healthiest choice.
