You might have been planning to rush your ginger mane down to Dolores Park later today for the 1st Annual SF Ginger Pride Day, but the event is now saying you should hold off.

The Facebook event invite RSVP list grew to a 1,700 strong yesterday, rattling the SF Recreation & Parks Department enough to effectively cancel the rally of redheads at a not-yet-fully-operational Dolores Park.

“Regrettably they’ve asked that we cancel those activities (Silent Disco, Photo Booth, Cake cutting and speech by mayoral candidate Broke-Ass Stuart),” the event planners wrote. “That being the case, all organized events in Dolores Park are officially cancelled.”

However, dear red haired friends, there is some good news. The party has relocated to Monarch in SOMA. Beginning at 9 pm, the club will offer drink deals on Jameson & (yep) Gingers. View the event page for the new venue here.
