The biopic about Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple and controversial tech visionary, had a tough time getting off the ground when it lost both its star in Christian Bale and its director in David Fincher, but eventually the film found its footing.

The true story adaptation found a new director with Aaron Sorkin, and cast a new lead in Michael Fassbender as Jobs alongside Seth Rogen (as Steve Wozniak), Kate Winslet, Katherine Waterston, Jeff Daniels, and Michael Stuhlbarg in principal roles.

The film looks pretty intense and frantic — a stark contrast to the clean, simplistic, brand identity of the consumer-facing Apple, so this should make for a compelling drama.

Set in the South Bay, it also hits close to home.

Watch the preview above, and keep an eye out for the premiere on October 9.
