Interview: Nate Ruess Lets Himself Get ‘Vulnerable’ on Solo Debut ‘Grand Romantic’

Nate Ruess thinks his new album, Grand Romantic, is precious. Or at least, that’s how the front man of GRAMMY-winning group fun. describes his upcoming debut solo album during a recent Radio.com interview.

He also says he’s enjoying the time while it’s still his own…before it hits stores next Tuesday (June 16) and countless new fans also ‘own’ it.

“This will always feel mine, no matter what, but you make albums so that people can relate,” Ruess says. “That’s why I started making music.”

Ruess tells stories about the making of Grand Romantic, including his process for “improvising” lyrics, getting “vulnerable” and collaborating with Pink.
