It seems like setting movies in San Francisco is all the rage these days (not that we mind), and it looks like the latest offering has just arrived.

We heard mumblings a while back about ‘Saturday Night Live’ alumnus Kristen Wiig and ‘True Blood”s Alexander Skarsgård running about town working on a project set in San Francisco in the ’70s, and now, months later, the first trailer for the autobiographical book adaptation Diary of a Teenage Girl has just premiered via Yahoo Movies.

The film stars a 15-year-old girl named Minnie Goetze, played by Brit actress Bell Powley, who loses her virginity to her mother’s boyfriend (Skarsgård), and subsequently begins to understand her own sexuality. Wiig plays Goetze’s (wild) mother.

The film was exceptionally well-received at Sundance, and will be premiering in select theaters this summer.

‘Diary of a Teenage Girl’ will begin showing August 7.
