One of the greatest things about Summer in San Francisco is Stern Grove’s weekly concerts. The free shows have become a mainstay for city dwellers, and it seems like every year, the lineup just gets better and better.
Although the lineup was supposed to be announced Friday, May 1, the free festival gods have unleashed it a day early.
On it, we get some classic acts, like the San Francisco Symphony and of course, the SF Ballet, but we also get acts from all across the spectrum.
Randy Newman and The Doobie brothers will both headline their own daytime shows, and local newcomers Bhi Bhiman and Con Brio will make appearances.
Indie darlings tUnE-yArDs will lead a show in July, and hip hop heads will be pleased to see Talib Kweli close out the season.
All shows are free and begin at 2pm pn Sundays (although you should plan on arriving early — shows do fill up quickly), and visitors can bring any food they’d like. More details here at the Stern Grove site.
