Looks like Sony Pictures is eyeing another reboot.
Following still kind of fresh news that that Ghostbusters would be getting a fresh new take with a female cast, it has been announced that 21 Jump Street would also follow suit.
According to The Tracking Board, the film’s producers have tapped writers from the hit show “Broad City”, Lucia Aniello and Paul Downs to pen the script, but that’s all we know so far about the project.
Here’s the thing: the 21 Jump Street isn’t exactly expired. The franchise had two massively successful films, and is preparing it’s third sequel currently. Could this film be a partner flick set alongside the new upcoming 23 Jump Street? Those who saw the first film may remember a pre-50 Shades Dakota Johnson and Rye Rye playing a female duo on the same beat as Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill — does that mean they would be our new stars?
Guess we’ll find out soon.
