Singer Demi Lovato is one of several celebrities to support Olympic legend Bruce Jenner in the aftermath of his 20/20 interview Friday night where he discussed being a transgender woman.
Lovato dedicated her performnace of “Warrior” to Jenner at her concert at the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand over the weekend.
“How many of you guys saw a really, really inspiring interview last night?” she asked the crowd, before asking them to excuse her language, and said that she tweeted out “#f***yeahBruceJenner.”
“I’ve come out with a lot of my issues; I’ve talked about them openly,” she said, noting the difficulties in dealing with certain issues when you’re a public figure.
“What’s incredible is that an American hero, an Olympian… to be honest, I didn’t know who he was until Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” she said, echoing many younger Americans. “And let’s be honest, neither did you.”
