Furious 7 is still off to the races following a further international expansion over the weekend. After premiering in China, the film set an opening day record there, banking an incredible $60.6 million.

As for its run in the United States, it continues to put up big money. On Sunday, it became the highest grossing movie in the franchise yet, with $252.5 million in profits. Critics believe it will gross around $350 million.

The Nicholas Sparks adaptation for The Longest Ride premiered this weekend, grossing a meager $13.5 million. The film is notable for starring up-and-comer Scott Eastwood, the son of Clint Eastwood, but despite its name recognition, it didn’t grab the big numbers it hoped for. The film will likely end up with around $30 million — not bad for a film without an already established A-List star in the leading role.

Ex Machina, a sci-fi flick about AI robots, premiered in four theaters this week to exceptional success. Look for it to expand in more locations in the coming weeks.
