Tom Hanks joined new Late Late Show host James Corden last night and the two acted out scenes from every film the 58 year-old’s Academy Award winner’s career.
The duo sped through the 8-minute sketch, which used a green screen to replicate scenes from his films, and there were even props to match. With Corden often acting as the foil, the duo covered Hanks’ big screen hits and misses including Forest Gump, Big, Saving Private Ryan, Captain Phillips, Castaway, Saving Mr. Banks and Toy Story. Yes, even Joe Versus the Volcano. And Cloud Atlas.
Hanks was recently accused of “manspreading” or taking up two seats on the subway. Hanks responded to the accusations last night by exclaiming, “Hey internet, you idiot, the train was half empty, it was scattered. There was plenty of room.” Further objecting to the notion that he was hogging an unfair share of seating, Hanks repeated, “I was not manspreading, I was enjoying a pleasant ride on the number 2 train.”
Watch the second episode of Late Late Show with James Corden tonight at 12:37 am ET/PT on CBS. Tonight’s guests are actor Chris Pine and Modest Mouse.
