We get a lot of bad news about the state of independent music in the Bay Area. This is not that kind of news.

Last week, Oakland’s 1-2-3-4 Go! Records revealed that not only is business booming, they’re opening a second location in San Francisco (high rents be damned!).

Last night, the store revealed that its new franchise would be opening up shop at 1034 Valencia St. (at 21st St.) where Lost Weekend Video currently resides. And here’s the best news: Lost Weekend isn’t on the outs — they’ll just be welcoming in 1-2-3-4 Go! to form the perfect analog entertainment store.

As a matter of fact, Lost Weekend Video is also expanding to Oakland. They’re looking to open up a new comedy club  and video store in Oakland (details on that here).

The shop’s soft opening will tentatively be held on April 1, and their major “Super crazy GRAND opening” will take place on Record Store Day on April 18. Details below.
