On February 28th, 2015 the San Jose Earthquakes will open their brand new Avaya Stadium in a exhibition match versus rival LA Galaxy.

The new stadium broke ground in 2013 and the webcam company Earth Cam documented the nearly 2 year $100 million project.

Previously, the Earthquakes played in Santa Clara University’s Buck Shaw Stadium and the new digs and pitch are a vast improvements. Avaya Stadium features 18,000 seats and 16 suites with high tech features (app integration, first cloud based stadium) and the largest outdoor bar in North America. The open air stadium also features a design that gets the fans closer to the action than any other stadium in American professional soccer.
