Lawyer for Pharrell, Eagles and John Lennon Threatens to Sue YouTube for $1 Billion

This might be news to YouTube users, but, apparently, YouTube still does not have the rights to all the music it offers on its streaming services. Now, a lawyer representing a number of popular artists is threatening to sue the web giant for upward of $1 billion dollars if it doesn’t remove 20,000 disputed songs.

Among the artists involved in the complaint: Pharrell WilliamsThe EaglesJohn LennonChris CornellSmokey Robinson, and George Gershwin. Yeah, those are some big names.

According to Billboard, a new organization called Global Music Rights, headed by attorney Irving Azoff, is behind the complaint, and is finding the removal of the songs much more difficult than, in their opinion, it should be.
