You should have just let it go, dude.

A French man has just been sentenced to serve four months in prison for texting and calling his ex-girlfriend nearly 22,000 times in a period of only ten months.  As The Guardian reports, it averages out to about 73 calls per day. “It was stupid,” the unnamed man said following his sentencing, seemingly unaware to the fact that “stupid” doesn’t accurately communicate the degree of his morbidly idiotic actions.

Apparently, the man was upset that the woman didn’t pay him for work he had done in their apartment when they were living together. When she blocked her personal line, he began calling her workplace (she’s a teacher) and her parents.

In addition to jail time, the man will have to pay a €1,000 fine (about $1,295), take part in psychiatric treatment, and obviously, never speak to the woman again.
