Ariana Grande has an album coming out. You probably knew that.

If you didn’t, that’s OK — the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards saw to it that you were well-informed within the first few minutes.

The 21-year-old kicked off the show with her current EDM hit “Break Free,” courtesy Zedd,  before giving it up to Nicki Minaj for the bootylicious track that is “Anaconda.”

But the duo — plus Jessie J — reconvened for their big-name collaboration “Bang Bang,” featuring all three on their own verses.

After Jessie threw it down with the first verse and a shortened chorus, Grande jumped in to a large round of applause — any doubt who might have the more rabid fanbase of the two? — before both traded off on the chorus, occasionally showing off some powerhouse vocals by deviating from the melody only slightly.
