This week was another eventful one in the news. We had a whole mess of stories, from a couple cheeky incidents with some local athletes, to a major historical local moment in music, to a viral video trend. Here are this week’s buzziest stories:

Vernon Davis Goes Undercover At His Santa Clara Jamba Juice, Is Quickly Found Out

You’d think if you saw a huge dude working at a Jamba Juice who strongly resembles the person whose name is on the store’s sign, you’d fill in the blanks pretty fast. That’s exactly what happened recently, when Vernon Davis trucked down to the Jamba Juice franchise he owns in the South Bay, donning a deadlocks wig and a name tag with the name “Sycamore.” As you might suspect he’s a much better Tight End than he is a smoothie salesman, but the video is still pretty funny.

ALS Bucket Challenge Takes Over the Internet

The Ice Bucket Challenge was everywhere this week. People in California were divided on the challenge itself, and rightfully so—it certainly wastes water when we are in a drought, but the challenge has to date raised over $50 million in funding for ALS research. Everyone got involved, from local sports teams to 50 Cent to the Hot Cop of the Castro to these unfortunate souls. Did you pour a bucket over your head?

We Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles in San Francisco

Fifty years ago this week, The Beatles started their first American tour right here in San Francisco. We rounded up a whole lot of historical photos, interviews, and factoids and put them all in one place. We can guarantee you you’ll learn something new about the Fab Four.

Stephen Curry Tried To Order a Beer Without an ID and His Waitress Wasn’t Having It

Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha took a little date night at their local California Pizza Kitchen recently. Curry left his ID in the car, believing that the staff would probably recognize him. Apparently he was wrong, because when he ordered a beer the waitress didn’t recognize him and wouldn’t serve him. Luckily, he got his beer when the manager was called on.
