The space flight company XCOR Aerospace has pledged a free flight to space if the Dutch National team manages to win the FIFA World Cup 2014.

Why do they want to send the Dutch to space? Simple – the California company recently acquired Dutch aerospace firm Space Expedition Corporation.

If they prevail the players would take off in the XCOR Lynx spaceplane. The Lynx is described as “a piloted, two-seat, fully reusable liquid rocket-powered spaceplane that takes off and lands horizontally.”

The Dutch team has face two tough (and controversial games) in the World Cup knockout stages verses Mexico and Costa Rica. They face off with Argentina in today’s semi-final for a spot in the final against Germany.
