Davis Boies and Theodore Olson are the attorneys who teamed up to fight for marriage equality.

To some people, they were the odd couple…if you think back to 2000, they were arguing against each other in Bush vs. Gore with the presidency on the line.

They explain how they decided to work on the case against Prop 8 ( the ban on same-sex marriage), how they found just the right plaintiffs, their preparation, the five year fight, and big win.

Boies and Olson chronicle this journey in their new book Redeeming the Dream: The Case for Marriage Equality.

In addition to their new book, the two attorneys are front and center in a new HBO documentary The Case Against 8.
