The East Bay’s ‘Metal Cats’ Book Is Hardcore Adorable & Charitable

By Alyssa Pereira

Alexandra Crockett, based out of the East Bay, wanted to improve the lives of abandoned animals, so she reached out to an unlikely community for help—hardcore metal musicians. She’s releasing a book May 6 of metal band members with their adorable kitties through powerHouse Publishing.

All in an effort to support no-kill animal shelters, a portion of the book’s earnings will go to benefit local shelters, including the Nine Lives Foundation, based here in Redwood City.

They’ll be holding a party in Oakland in late May for the launch of the book, and you can get the book right here on Amazon for less than $10. In the meantime, check out some of the book’s pics below.
