The Oscars have always been the epitome of opulence and glamour, and we’ve grown to love seeing what the actors are wearing just as much as we love “watching millionaires present each other with gold statues,” as 2012 host Billy Crystal so aptly put it. We like to see a show, especially when its characters are dripping in finery and stuffed into ruffled chiffon—and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Though this year’s Oscars have already wrapped up with some surprises and shockers (sorry Leo), but not everything has faded away just yet. Vogue Australia did some investigating and came up with this year’s most expensive outfits.
Put on your sunglasses guys, these ladies shine bright like all the diamonds they’re wearing.
Jennifer Lawrence, $3.58 Million
This year’s lady in red wore a Christian Dior dress worth about $80,000 and more than 110 carats in diamonds.
Jennifer Garner, $5.025 Million
Garner wore a $25,000 Oscar de la Renta tiered stunner and a Forevermark encrusted cuff and clutch, worth about $5 Million.
Margot Robbie, $8.012 Million
The She-Wolf of Wall Street wore a $12,000 Yves St. Laurent column and a cool $8 Million in Forevermark diamonds.
Sandra Bullock, $8.24 Million
The Gravity star wore a sapphire-toned Alexander McQueen valued at $40,000 and a couple Lorraine Schwartz pieces costing $8.2 Million.
Charlize Theron, $15.89 Million
Theron’s jewelry alone was worth about twice the total costs of (almost) everyone else on the red carpet. Her Harry Winston jewels clocked in at around $15.8 Million. Her black plunge neck dress, however, was no throwaway either—the Christian Dior haute couture cost about $90,000.
Cate Blanchett, $18.1 Million
Blanchett, who was nominated for the San Francisco-based film Blue Jasmine, wore Chopard earrings, bracelet, and diamond ring worth around $18 Million and an Armani Privé dress costing $100,000.
