Liz Saint John interviews three guests every Sunday morning covering a variety of issues and topics. She talks with representatives from Bay Area non-profit organizations, documentary filmmakers, authors, and professors.

1. Journalist Jonathan Kozol investigates the effects of poverty on children. He wrote about a group of children 25 years ago…and now follows up with some of them…he shares their stories in “Fire From the Ashes.”

2. Economist Rakesh Sarin talks about the equation that explains how much happiness we experience. He explains the science behind the theory in “Engineering Happiness.”

3. Dr. Frannie Edwards from the Mineta Transportation institute reminds us what we need to have at home, int he car and at work to be prepared for an earthquake and its aftermath. She also discusses what might happen to mass transit during and after a major Bay Area earthquake.
