Hey, it’s Rebecca again blogging for Jayn. All I have to say is … WOW! The Opening Ceremony and Reception last night was a show to remember! There were fireworks and lights; a performance by Keali’l Reichel, a renowned Hawaiian musician, pixie dust, and of course Mickey and Minnie! Not to mention the graceful hula dancers – men and women alike.

[photogallerylink id=95636 align=left]I learned some amazing facts yesterday about all the special things that the Disney Imagineers have installed here at the Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa. Around every corner it seems that there is something to spark a child’s imagination. If you look through a keyhole on just a regular piece of furniture in the lobby, you will discover a miniature Hawaiian fishing village. Inside a paper lantern hanging from the ceiling, the curious eye will see a friendly resident gecko. The nighttime lights in the Waikolohe Valley are in alignment with the constellations. There are hidden sea creatures in the lava rock in the center of the valley that you pass on your way down the waterslide. Those are just a few examples of the creative way that your imagination is captured when you are here at the Aulani. I am blown away!
