November 11, 2010 is Veterans Day. Below is a list of events around the Bay to honor those who have served their country in the armed forces.
San Francisco Veterans Day Parade: Parade begins at 11 a.m. starting at 2nd and Market Streets before proceeding up Market to Seventh and McAllister before ending in Civic Center Plaza.
San Jose Veterans Day Parade: After an opening ceremony at Plaza de Cesar Chavez at 11 a.m., a parade through downtown San Jose will take place at 12 p.m.
Antioch Veterans Day Parade: Parade begins at 11 a.m., starting at 2nd St and L St traveling up 2nd Street to end at I St. All Military Groups are invited to participate.
Fairfield Veterans Day Commemoration and Parade: Fairfield hosts a ceremony of remembrance and concert at 1035 Texas St beginning at 10 a.m. with a parade through downtown Fairfield on Texas Street that starts at; 12:30pm.
Marin county Veterans Day Celebration: The Marin Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium in San Rafael a Veterans’ Day program that begins at 9:30 a.m. with music, military exercises and a brief address. It will continue in front of the World War I, World War II and Korean, Vietnam and Merchant Marine Memorials on the Avenue of the Flags.
Pinole Veterans Day Memorial and Flag Retirement Ceremony: Pinole will host a 11 a.m. memorial ceremony at the barbecue area in Fernandez Park. Pinole Boy Scout Troop 86 will handle flag retirement duties during the event.
Petaluma Veterans Day Parade: Downtown Petaluma hosts a parade, and airshow starting at 1 p.m. that features war planes flying in formation over Petaluma and a parade that ends at Walnut Park.
