VET SOS

VET SOS is a volunteer-based project providing free veterinary care for companion animals of homeless San Franciscans. I interviewed Ilana Strubel, the vet who started the program, Nina Willer, the program coordinator for Homeless Youth Alliance, Betty Carmack, a career nurse who is an expert in the human-animal bond, and Elizabeth, a woman who is currently homeless and living with her companion animal Hero.
