A new study from York University in Toronto, Canada, has proven something we’ve always suspected about gay guys: It takes a LOT of mental energy to properly understand fashion, decorating, flower arranging, and [lastfm]Lady Gaga[/lastfm].
The study found that gay men actually use MORE of their brains than straight men.
Researchers at York tested how well gay guys, straight guys and women remembered people’s faces. Gay guys and women both did better, since they use both hemispheres of their brain to remember things. Straight guys only use one.
Now, that doesn’t mean gay men are necessarily SMARTER than hetero men. It just means that they store some information…like people’s faces and other social cues…on both sides of the brain, which lets them access the info faster.
