This year is the 40th Anniversary of San Francisco Pride. PG&E is the presenting sponsor along with LGBT leader Mark Rhoades benefiting New Leaf Services. The event will take place inside the Redwood Room and Velvet Room at the Clift Hotel from 6-9:30pm.
This event is a thank you to the many men and women who give their time and resources to make our community a better place. The red carpet extravaganza honors 400 of the movers and shakers of the San Francisco community. PG&E has been a long time supporter of the LBGT community. They were the founding sponsor this event.
Curve Magazine is celebrating their 20th Anniversary with their Eden Party. They kick off the pride weekend by hosting many events from Thursday to Sunday. They will have actress Pam Grier at 434 Brannon Street from 9pm- 3am. The theme is the Garden of Eden. The venue will be transformed into biblical paradise. It is All Women All Weekend.
Back to the Botanical Garden. They must really like this place. After the movie Howl with Actor James Franco playing poet Allen Ginsberg in his early years. Jon Hamm (Mad Men) and Mary- Louise Parker are in the film as well. Playing James Franco’s lover is (Gossip Girl Cute Aaron Tveit). It is directed by Academy Award winning documentaries Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman ( The Time of Harvey Milk and Celluloid Closet.)
The 18th annual Dyke March is from 3-7pm at Dolores Park. This year’s theme is Dyke Plant/Green Planet. Suggested donation of the $5-$10
