San Francisco, CA (June 9, 2009) – Alice @ 97.3 is pleased to announce ALICE’S SUMMERTHING, an annual free concert in Golden Gate Park, on June 21, 2009 at Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park. Now in its 7th year, Alice’s Summerthing celebrates the joy of summer while embracing the Bay Area tradition of hosting free music in the park. More than a concert, ALICE’S SUMMERTHING is a musical and artistic celebration that offers an unforgettable festive atmosphere with a colorful collage of musical talent, outdoor activities, art n’ craft booths, good vibes and gourmet food. Gavin Rossdale:
WANDERlust is the provocative title for the intriguing first solo album by Gavin Rossdale – an inspired song cycle by the former leader of Bush that turns out to be a trip in its own right. “The wanderlust I’m talking about isn’t that desire to travel and see the world, Rossdale explains with a grin. “It’s my overwhelming desire to get out and play music for people.” Yes, Mr. Gwen Stefani has his own amazing record – “Love Remains the Same” and so much more – and Alice@97.3 cannot wait for his live Bay Area debut at Summerthing!

Matt Nathanson:
After relocating from Boston to San Francisco in the early ’90s, Nathanson came to prominence on the coffeehouse scene, but before he picked up his acoustic guitar, he was well-schooled in the art of big-riff rock. He’s honed his live show- opening for artists like Tori Amos, John Mayer, Pink, Guster and OAR…and he’s charmed Alice – and the whole country – with his latest breathtaking hit, “Come On Get Higher.”

Sugar Ray:
Between 2 different albums going a total of 5 times platinum, ruling the pop-culture scene with Mark McGrath hosting television’s “Extra,” and stealing Alice shows in the past, Sugar Ray are our favorites for a reason. Come party with the perennial lives of the party at Summerthing 2009!

Parachute:
Their single “She is Love” was used on Nivea’s national skincare TV commercial. As part of the campaign, Parachute shared the Nivea Countdown Stage with none other than the Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift – in front of over one million people in Times Square. Now welcome them to our stage at Summerthing 2009!
